Feast on a full-course dinner prepared by Satoshi Kakegawa, a Michelin-Starred chef who continues to bring Japanese flavors to the world.
Chef Kakegawa trained at renowned French restaurants, including auberge AU MIRADOR and Les Créations de NARISAWA (renamed NARISAWA), before going independent in 2012 and opening Äta in Daikanyama. Äta is now a popular and difficult-to-book bistro.
Since then, he has continued to produce high-profile restaurants of various genres, including spice curry restaurant Good Luck Curry; Varmen, a collaboration with the CAVE D’OCCHI winery; and Korean food and natural wine restaurant Poppo Korea. The classic French restaurant au deco, which he opened in Hiroo, has been awarded a Michelin Star for four consecutive years. With his boundless creativity and skills honed over many years, he continues to inspire in multifaceted ways, including in product development and restaurant production.
Savor a world-class brand of authentic wagyu with a taste that will satisfy even the most discerning palate.
Wagyu has earned a worldwide reputation for its glossy and tender red meat and, above all, its magnificent marbling. The beef begins to melt as soon as it enters your mouth, allowing you to savor the sweetness of the high-quality fat along with the rich flavor of the meat.
The term “wagyu” refers to the breeds of cattle that have been improved through repeated cross-breeding based on Japanese native cattle (varieties of cattle that have inhabited the area since ancient times). Today, the fat in wagyu beef is so buttery that it melts at the temperature of human skin. The fat slowly spreads in your mouth, releasing its delicious and irresistible umami flavor. The meat itself is also juicy and perfectly complements the fat.
Wagyu is considered to be delicious when there is a good balance of fat and meat. On this tour, Chef Kakegawa will create a memorable experience with carefully selected wagyu.
Experience the Yakatabune boat cruise, a popular Tokyo tradition from centuries ago.
Boat cruises in Japan are believed to have originated in the Heian period (794–1185), when they became a popular pastime for court nobles, and later for Sengoku warlords. During the Edo period (1603–1868), yakatabune boats were first used by wealthy merchants and powerful feudal lords. Eventually, yakatabune boat cruises became a leisure activity that could be enjoyed by Edo commoners. It is still one of the best traditions of Japan and Tokyo, and is extremely popular with Japanese locals and international visitors alike.
Yakatabune boats move smoothly without rocking or swaying, ensuring that you enjoy a leisurely meal. You’ll feel your body relax and unwind as you take in the night view of Tokyo from the boat.
